Week of December 23, 2009

Current Requests:

Ministry Requests

1. Liberty and accuracy for Joshua as he preaches during pre-field ministry

2. That the Lord would lead us to the churches and individuals that He would have us partner with. (This coming month we are focusing on GA churches.)

3. That we would have the ability and wisdom to be a blessing and encouragement to the churches where we have meetings. (This month our last meeting will be in Massilon, OH).

4. That we would have both patience and diligence as we await the Lord’s timing to go to Romania.

5. 100 % support December/ January. We’d really like to be able to start preparing to actually move when we reach the 2 year mark for deputation.

Personal Growth

1. Intimacy and stability in our relationship with the Lord as we bounce around the country
2. Quiet times and places for Joshua to work on ordination and sermon preparation
3. Wisdom for Laurel as she learns to balance mothering responsibilities with other aspects of ministry.
4. Our family’s ability to learn the Romanian language and culture well.

Family Requests

1. Wisdom as we learn to be parents on deputation
2. Health for all four of us during flu season, but especially for pregnant Laurel, baby Athan, and his tiny sister inside of Laurel.
3. Wisdom to recognize and boldness to seize God-given opportunities to witness to the unsaved in our travels and through written conversations.

Praises:

1.This month we reached 50% support. Praise the Lord for His provision.

2. The Lord’s amazing provision of a 2005 Toyota Highlander through a family of one of our supporting churches.  We know this is an old praise, but we are still so overwhelmed by the Lord’s generous provision, and we use it everyday! It is a constant reminder of how God is leading and taking care of us.

2. Two meetings in December!

5. Because of this second pregnancy, Laurel has been traveling by plane with Athan to some of our meetings. The Lord has been so gracious to answer our prayers for baby-friendly people for her to sit next to on airplanes, and He has been very gracious to provide reasonable tickets.

6. New friendships with a Romanian church plant in Greenville. The pastor and his wife are doing their best to help us learn Romanian. What a huge blessing!
